Dingbo is a diesel generator manufacturer with 19 years of production experience. In recent years, the most exported brand is Cummins, which is very popular both domestically and internationally. However, even the best quality diesel generator sets need to be maintained in order to extend their service life. Today, let Dingbo introduce to you how to maintain Cummins diesel generator sets.
It should be noted that most of the monthly maintenance work for Cummins diesel generator sets should be carried out in a shutdown state. Usually, it is carried out 50 hours after the first new operation of the diesel generator set or one month after the last maintenance. Monthly maintenance includes all the work of daily maintenance and weekly maintenance.
1.Daily maintenance and upkeep
(1). Check the daily work report of the generator set;
(2). Check the appearance of the engine;
(3). Check the oil level;
(4). Check the coolant level;
(5). Visually inspect the cooling fan;
(6). Check if the engine coolant heater is working properly;
2.Weekly maintenance and upkeep
After completing the daily maintenance work, the weekly maintenance work is as follows:;
(1). Check if the cumulative reading of the engine intake filter indicator is below the mark;
(2). Clean or replace the air filter element;
(3). Check whether the intake pipeline is loose;
(4). Drain the accumulated water from the fuel system oil-water separator;
(5). Discharge sediment from the fuel tank;
(6). Check if the starting battery voltage is above 24V;
(7). Start the generator set and check for any abnormal phenomena such as leakage;
3.Monthly maintenance content (for standby models)
(1). Repeat the daily and weekly maintenance content mentioned above.
(2). Check whether the electronic speed regulator and pressure plate are flexible and have accurate control of voltage and speed functions.
(3). Replace the cooling water, measure the pH value before and after replacement (normal value is 7.5-9), and make measurement records. Try to use Frega coolant.
(4). Check the tension of the fan belt and charger belt, and adjust them if necessary.
(5). Cooperate with the emergency power generation test for electrical work, check whether the readings, degrees, and loudness of various instruments are normal during the operation of the diesel engine, and make operation records.
(6). Check the coolant level, check for leaks, and check for blockages in the radiator.
(7). Check the oil level of the generator and inspect for any oil leaks.
(8). Check the fuel level for any leaks.
(9). Check the mains power supply system, simulate a mains power failure, observe whether the generator starts automatically and whether the ATS transfer switch switches automatically.
(10). Check the air filter and clean it every 50 working hours or every month (whichever comes first).
